Early the next morning around daybreak resident of area seen a suspicious person coming from woods and alerted sheriffs office of the area he was in. Chief Deputy Justin Cross and Sheriff Brockman proceeded to the area and located the subject at an abandoned farm house off Christine Rd.
He was identified as 33 year old Wesley Pitcock of Columbia and he was took into custody. The Sheriffs Office located multiple stolen items ranging from chainsaws, weed trimmers , air compressors, Jump boxes, miscellaneous tools, a golf cart, and a stolen 2002 silver mercury Mountaineer SUV that was entered stolen from Horse Cave KY.
The investigation revealed that at least 4 separate residences had been stolen from in that area over 24 hrs and all stolen property has been returned to its rightful owners.
Pitcock was charged with:
1- Burglary 4 counts
2- Receiving stolen property over 10,000 dollars
3- Theft by Unlawful taking
He will also be facing charges for fleeing and evading police 1st degree stemming from the pursuit earlier that morning.
The investigation is being continued by the Sheriff’s Office
