The collision was located just prior to Barnetts Creek Road on the bridge. CPR was started by the sheriffs office and Knifley fire prior to ems arrival however attempts by responders and ems was unsuccessful and the operator was pronounced dead at the scene. Adair County Coroner Todd Akin and Deputy Coroner Roger Huckaby were notified and responded to the scene.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Jessie Allen Johnson, age 47, was traveling west on KY206 when he lost control of his 2007 Dodge Dakota pickup truck and struck the concrete bridge abutment bringing vehicle to an immediate stop. The roadways at the time of the collision were snow and ice covered with very hazardous driving conditions.
The collision was investigated by Sheriff Josh Brockman who was assisted by Chief Deputy Brandon Hitch.
