Upon arrival of Adair County Sheriff’s Office Deputies Jason Camfield and Chris Tweedy, they found that two vehicles had struck head on, with one of the two patients being unresponsive with severe injuries.
Preliminary investigation shows that a 2007 KIA passenger car, operated by 81 year old Freddie Loy, was traveling south on KY 61 and was attempting a left hand turn onto KY 768.
A 2020 Toyota Camry, operated by 39 year old Chasity Wooten, was traveling north on KY 61 toward Columbia.
Loy turned into the path of Wooten, who was unable to stop or avoid the collision and struck Loy’s vehicle in the northbound lane.
Freddie Loy, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to TJ Health Columbia by Adair EMS, where he was pronounced deceased.
Adair County Deputy Coroner Preston Gaskin was notified.
Chasity Wooten, was transported by Adair EMS to TJ Health Columbia for treatment of her injuries.
Responding Agencies: Adair County Sheriff’s Office, Adair County EMS , Breeding Fire Department, Kentucky State Police and Adair County Coroners Office.
The collision is being investigated by Deputy Camfield, who was assisted by Deputy Tweedy.
The investigation also continues by the Adair County Sheriff’s Office.
