Bradley Bennett, age 35, was taken into custody Sunday afternoon just after 5, by Assistant Chief Jamie Rogers and Officers Matt Parish and Melissa Taylor with the Russell Springs Police Department. Bennett was charged with Disorderly Conduct 2nd degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd degree and Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place (1st and 2nd Offense).
According to Police Chief Joe Michael Irvin, Bennett is charged with tampering with flags at businesses and government offices across the county overnight Saturday. WJRS News had received several reports of flags across the county being turned upside down. Bennett was taken into custody after cutting up flags along 127 in Russell Springs yesterday afternoon.
Chief Irvin wanted to thank the many individuals, including the Russell County Honor Guard and business owners throughout the community that came together and straightened out and replaced the flags involved in the incident.

Bradley Bennett, age 35, of Jamestown has now been charged with “Desecration of Venerated Objects 2nd degree”. Bennett, was taken into custody Sunday afternoon just after 5, by Assistant Chief Jamie Rogers and Offices Matt Parrish and Melissa Taylor with the Russell Springs Police Department.
According to Police Chief Joe Michael Irvin, Bennett is charged with tampering with flags at businesses and government offices across the county overnight Saturday, He was taken into custody after allegedly cutting up flags along 127 in Russell Springs, Sunday afternoon.
Bennett remains lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.
