Preliminary investigation indicates that the operator 17 year old Autumn Bennett of Columbia lost control of her 1998 Toyota 4 runner leaving the right side of the roadway. The vehicle struck an earth embankment causing it to go airborne. Upon landing vehicle came back up onto roadway where vehicle overturned and came back to rest in its upright position.
The operator Autumn Bennett was partially ejected. The vehicle was also occupied by passenger 15 year old Charity Bennett and 16 year old Olivia Bair also of Columbia . All three were treated on scene by Adair County Ems and transported to Westlake Regional Hospital for additional care.
CPD officers Josh Brockman and Charles Greer are continuing the investigation.
