This matchup will be the second time these teams have faced each other in program history. The teams met in 2017 where the Blue Raiders won 43-7.
Lindsey Wilson (2-0, 1-0 MSC) is coming off a 34-2 win over then No. 4-ranked Keiser (Fla).
The Blue Raiders posted 420 total yards of offense, 264 yards in the air, and 156 yards on the ground.
Cameron Dukes led the way for the Blue Raiders, throwing for 190 yards and three touchdowns. Dukes also added to the running game as he picked up 46 yards. Joshua Lewis had four receptions for 94 yards and two touchdowns on the day. Jaleel Warren and Dimitrius Patterson also added a receiving touchdown on the day. On the ground, a trio of running backs in, Jaylen Boyd, Darius Clark, and Kobe Belcher pushed the Blue Raiders rushing attack ahead as they rushed for 92, 44, and 21 yards, respectively.
Lindsey Wilson's defense did not allow a Seahawk score in the game while recording 55 tackles and four turnovers. The defensive effort was led by NAIA and Mid-South Conference Defender of the week Robert Carter who set a program record with three interceptions and added on eight total tackles. Darius Hylick also added a fumble recovery to the defensive effort.
St. Andrews in their last effort lost to St. Thomas University (Fla.) 62-20. The Knights totaled 316 offensive yards in the game compared to the Bobcats 592.
St. Andrew’s offense is led by Austin Wallace who was 7-of-17 with 56 yards and an interception against St. Thomas. The rushing attack contributed to the only touchdowns of the game for the Knights, those were scored by Ronald Mackey and Juwan Lyons.
The offense is averaging 320 total yards per game this season with 213 of those coming from the ground.
Defensively, the Knights tallied 50 total tackles. Ronald Coleman led the defense with 6 total tackles and a pass breakup. The Defense recovered five fumbles on the day as a team but allowed 364 yards of passing and 228 yards of rushing and 62 points on the day. The defense in total has allowed 1,949 yards and has given up 188 points in just three games.
