Due to the Veterans’ Day luncheon, Tuesday, November 13, we are cancelling our November Chamber meeting that day in honor of our veterans.

Multiple trees have been reported and roadways cleared starting at Cane Valley Mill Rd heading due East impacting Cane Valley Rd / Beechtop Rd area, Mt Carmel Rd / Holmes Bend Rd area.
Several barns and outbuildings are damaged near Mt Carmel Rd and Holmes Bend Intersection. Several single trees have been reported down and cleared on White Oak Church Rd, Greensburg Rd and Knifley Rd. The National Weather Service has not confirmed a site visit but a site visit has been mentioned on NWSChat. Please use caution during the morning commute as unknown hazards or work crews may be present. NWS confirmed EF-1Tornado touched down in Adair County last night. Today is the big day (Tuesday, November 6th, 2018)

Bethel (Tenn.), Reinhardt (Ga.), Cumberlands (Ky.), Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), Georgetown (Ky.) and Southeastern (Fla.) are ranked in the Football Coaches' top 25, the national office announced on Monday.
Webber International (Fla.) is mentioned in the receiving votes section of the poll.aaa Bethel holds steady at number three following its bye last week. The Wildcats picked up 335 voting points and return to action against Cumberland (Tenn.) this week. Reinhardt remains at No. 4 with 325 voting points. The Eagles will look to clinch the MSC Appalachian division title against Union (Ky.) this Saturday. Cumberlands registered 209 voting points to stay at No. 13. The Patriots close out its regular season against Pikeville (Ky.) this week. Lindsey Wilson dropped one spot in the rankings and is slated at No. 18. The Blue Raiders recorded 134 voting points following its 21-4 win over Campbellsville (Ky.). Georgetown accumulated 124 voting points in the rankings to hold onto the No. 19 spot in the poll. The Tigers improved to 7-3 overall after its shutout of Cincinnati Christian (Ohio). Southeastern rejoined the rankings this week and comes in at No. 25. The Fire picked up 22 voting points and need a win against Faulkner to clinch at least a share of the MSC Sun Divisional Title. Webber International picked up three voting points to earn a mention in the poll. The Warriors are 5-4 overall and picked up a win over division-leading Ave Maria (Fla.) last week. Morningside (Iowa) holds onto the top spot in the poll. The Mustangs garnered 15 first-place votes and 366 total points. Marian (Ind.) is second with 352 total points and the final first-place vote. Northwestern (Iowa) is slated fifth with 302 voting points. The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and Independents. The final regular season poll is scheduled to be released on Sunday, Nov. 11. On November 3rd, 2018 at approximately 7:19 PM EST, while on routine patrol Trooper Zach Scott initiated a traffic stop on a 2007 Pontiac for a cancelled registration plate violation. Upon contact with the driver 25 year old Jesse Galloway of Liberty, Trooper Scott a small glass pipe in plain view, in the center console, with suspected methamphetamine residue inside of it. Consent to search was given resulting in 4 small bags of suspected methamphetamine, scales, prescription pills, 2 firearms, and a large sum of cash being located. Trooper Scott arrested and charged Galloway with no registration plates, no registration receipt, trafficking in a controlled substance, 2nd degree 1st offense- > or = 10 D.U. amphetamine, trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense- ( 2 grams methamphetamine), DUI 3rd aggravating circumstance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, defacing a firearm and failure of owner to maintain required insurance. Galloway was lodged in the Casey County Detention Center. Trooper Scott was assisted by Trooper Allen Shirley.
