Adair County man charged with drug trafficking and being fugitive from justice.
On 10-14-21 at 1:31 a.m. Sheriff’s Deputy Kenny Perkins arrested Trayton Coe, 22, on charges of Trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, trafficking in marijuana and being a fugitive from justice. Coe had outstanding warrants for his arrest from Missouri with full extradition. Sheriffs office is continuing investigation. Adair County Sheriff;s Department Josh Brockman The Columbia Police Department have made an arrest in connection with a stolen vehicle which was later found burned and destroyed beyond repair on Cape Road. The investigation began when a 1986 Porsche was reported stolen in the Columbia city limits on September 15. After investigation, Officers acting on a tip went to a residence on Cape Road on October 3, and were given permission to look on property where they located the vehicle partially hidden under a brush pile. In addition to locating the vehicle Officers also received information leading to a second vehicle which had been stolen in the Melson Ridge Community being found in Monticello. Information was given to Adair Sheriffs Office with charges pending. Regarding the stolen and destroyed Porsche The Columbia Police Department have now charged Timothy Wray, 22, of a Columbia with tampering with physical evidence, receiving stolen property under $10,000 and criminal mischief first degree. All felonies. Officer Justin Cross was the investigating Officer. He was assisted with the investigation and apprehension by Officers Joey Keith and Josh Durbin The Columbia Police Department have charged two individuals in separate instances of contraband within Adair Regional Jail.
On October 13, Officers were called to the jail after staff had observed a male individual attempt to conceal items under his jail mat on camera. After search, male subject who had been brought in previously for a bond revocation was found to be in possession of 9 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Oba Thompson, 32, of Columbia has been charged with promoting contraband 1st degree and possession of methamphetamine 2nd offense. Additionally on October 13, the Columbia Police Department served an active warrant on a female when party on October 3 had brought hygiene items to an inmate and it was discovered she had concealed various items including THC dabs and oils within a shampoo bottle she had dropped off. Cindy Smith, 47, of Columbia has been charged with one count promoting contraband first degree. The Lindsey Wilson football team (5-0, 3-0 MSC Bluegrass Division) remained at the top of the rankings in the latest NAIA Football FirstDown PlayBook Top-25 poll, officials at the national office announced on Monday.
The Blue Raiders received 444 voting points and 18 first-place votes in the poll. Northwestern (Iowa) remained in second with 425 points while Morningside (Iowa) stayed in third with 412 voting points and the final first-place vote. Grand View (Iowa) remained in fourth with 392 voting points while Concordia (Mich.) rounded out the top five with 377 voting points. Lindsey Wilson is one of seven other Mid-South Conference schools to be ranked with Keiser (Fla.) remaining in sixth with 353 voting points. Reinhardt (Ga.) improved one spot to 11th with 268 voting points while Georgetown (Ky.) fell to 13th. Faulkner (Ala.) improved three spots to 17th with 160 voting points and St. Thomas (Fla.) becomes ranked for the first time this season in 24th with 36 voting points. Bethel (Tenn.) and Cumberlands (Ky.) sit in the receiving votes section. The Blue Raiders return home this Saturday, October 16 to face off with No. 13-ranked Georgetown. On 10-09-21 Deputy Sheriff Tracy McCarol was dispatched to a single vehicle collision 4 miles east of Columbia on KY 80. Preliminary investigation shows that operator Kenneth Montgomery 19, of Jamestown lost control of his 2007 Ford passenger car. Montgomery was traveling west when he dropped off the shoulder of the highway and in attempt to recover the vehicle he over corrected. The vehicle then began to roll over multiple times. Montgomery along with his passengers Alex Gaskin 17 and Justin Cox 17 was transported to TJ Health of Columbia by Adair EMS for treatment of injuries sustained. Adair Sheriffs Office is continuing investigation. Sheriff Josh Brockman Adair County Sheriff's Department On Monday, October 11, The Columbia Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a motorcycle on Wright Drive however driver would not stop and attempted to elude Officers. Operator made his way from Wright Drive through multiple side streets as well as turning onto Jamestown Street traveling at a high rate of speed and passing other motorists. Officers with The Columbia Police and Adair Sheriffs Office maintained visual of motorcycle until subject wrecked out on Knifley Road Highway 551. Adair EMS responded to the scene and checked operator out on site before he was taken into custody. James Haselwood, 38, of Columbia is facing multiple charges including felony’s fleeing and evading, wanton endangerment 1st degree, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and numerous traffic violations. Officer Josh Durbin was the arresting Officer. He was assisted in pursuit and on scene by Sgt Evan Burton, Deputy Tracy McCarol, and Adair EMS. Cameron Dukes has been named the Mid-South Conference Football Bluegrass Division Offensive Player of the Week, officials at the conference office announced on Monday.
Dukes notched his sixth career 300-yard passing game in the Blue Raiders’ 47-0 win at Thomas More (Ky.) on Saturday. He completed 28-of-34 passes for 365 yards and two touchdowns in just three quarters of action. Dukes’ two touchdown tosses covered 41 and 70 yards. He added 24 rushing yards and a three-yard rushing touchdown in the win. Dukes is averaging 229.7 passing yards per game while completing 71.6 percent of his passes. The native of Shepherdsville, Ky. earns his first MSC weekly honor of the season and the eighth of his career. Boyd returned a kickoff from five yards deep in his own endzone for a touchdown in Lindsey Wilson’s win on Saturday. The official 100-yard touchdown is the longest in the program’s history. The touchdown return came at the start of the third quarter to extend Lindsey Wilson’s lead. Boyd is averaging 63 yards per kickoff return in his two attempts this season.
