He says the state of education is strong, citing Kentucky's top ten ranking with an 88-percent graduation rate, and coming in number one, in states that require four years of English and through Algebra Two in mathematics. However, there are two areas of improvement he wants to work on, closing the achievment gap and middle school math. Pruitt says he's also concerned about state funding, since it's bound to be a tough budget year. He says he'll be watching Governor Bevin's Budget address Tuesday night. Terry and I would like everyone to know how grateful we are for the patient citizens of Adair county. Terry wanted to thank the county farmers and equipment owners that have helped their neighbors and the road crews in this time of need. These farmers and equipment owners have left their warm homes to assist selflessly. These citizens are the reason we think Adair County is #1 in the State, not just alphabetically.

The heavy snow and ice caused awnings covering many slips and boats to collapse, damaging boats. Some reports are that some houseboats actually sunk as a result of taking on water. Both Jamestown Marina and Alligator Dock 2 issued statements that individual boat owners are being contacted but that no persons were allowed on the docks due to safety concerns at this time. Docks in Pulaski, Clinton, and Taylor counties also received severe damage. Story courtesy of lakercountry.com |
