Bill was born in Somerset, on March 4, 1937, to the late Marshall E. and Daisy Collins VanHook. He married Faye Shelton, in Inverness, Florida, on December 24, 1958. They have three children from their union. He was a graduate of the University of South Florida. Bill was a retired Sunoco oil distributor, real estate broker and land developer. He was of the Baptist faith, being a member of the First Baptist Church of Science Hill and of the First Baptist Church of Inverness Florida. Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his wife, Faye; their son, William R. VanHook, Jr. (and Tammy), of Port Richey, Florida; two daughters, Marsha Norene VanHook, of Port Richey, Florida, and Elizabeth Erin Beasley (and Dennis), of Somerset; two brothers, James E. VanHook (and Christa), and Robert E. VanHook (and Fonda), both of Somerset; his sister, Shelby Jean Williams, of Somerset; six grandchildren, Heather Kruzyk, Esq. (and Alex), of Boca Raton, Florida, Tyler Beasley, USCG (and Claire), of Astoria, Oregon, Brady Beasley, of Somerset, William Jack Beasley, of Somerset, Nicole Paquette, USCG, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Brandi Paquette, USCG, of Warren, Michigan; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Virginia Shelton, of Inverness, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Gayle Stokes, of Inverness, Florida, and Janet Foshee, of Ft. Myers, Florida; special nieces and nephews, Jeannie Wood (and Todd), of Somerset, Lisa Shouse (and Hiram), of Somerset, Carla Jones (and Chris), of Shelbyville, Steve Price (and Kris), of Somerset, Vicki Hines (and Mike), of Somerset, and Jeff VanHook (and Jill), of Lawrenceburg; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, from 10:00am until 2:00pm, in the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm. Officiating the funeral service will be Joe Correll.
