He was former co-owner of Callison’s Dairy Queen where he worked many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Woodlawn Christian Church as well as having been a member of the National Guard, Cook Mountain Hunt Club, and Portland Hunt Club. Mr. Callison was an outdoorsman and could often be found enjoying his hobby of hunting.
Philip Callison was born in Adair County, Kentucky to the late, Eugene Paul and Frances Cheatham Callison. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Phillip P. Callison.
He is survived by his wife,Polly Ann Price Callison; a daughter, Laura Callison Watson and her husband, Greg of Campbellsville; and a son, Ryan Callison and his wife, Amara of Elizabethtown. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Katelyn McMahan, Chelsie Edwards, Sidney Edwards, Corey Watson, Caroline McMahan, Summer Edwards, CheyAnn Edwards and Piper Callison. One Great grandchild survives, Hunter Phillip Calum Webb as well as a daughter-in-law, Cathy McMahan and her husband Ron.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 25th at Woodlawn Christian Church with Bro. Fella Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
The family request visitation from 11 a.m. until time for the service at Woodlawn Christian Church.
