
Born May 11, 1933 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late John Jacob Smith and Mary Ellis Dick Smith. She was a homemaker and member of the Ferndale Baptist Church. She was a former Sunday school teacher and took care of the birthday fund at church. She loved to garden and crochet.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Preston Taylor Gadberry, who died October 21, 1985; three brothers, Oliver, Oscar, and William Smith; and four sisters, Irene Hanson, Della McAninch, Manilla Ellison and Rella Hines.
Survivors include a son, Terry Lee Gadberry of Liberty; two daughters, Linda Gail (and Jesse) Hines and Joanna Fay (and Gary) Evans, both of Liberty; two grandchildren, Stacy Hines (and Mike) Woodrum and Miranda Evans (and Adam) Hines; two great-grandchildren, Colton Issac Hines and Payton Mills; brother, Ancil (and Louise) Smith of Edinburgh, Indiana; and two sisters, Christine Hansford and Marie Drostie, both of Liberty.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Ferndale Baptist Church with Bro Larold Gosser, Bro. David Terwilliger, and Bro. Gary Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Spaw Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and will continue Wednesday from 8:00 a.m until 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Visitation is at Ferndale Baptist Church Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 p.m..
Pallbearers are Terry Gadberry, Jesse Hines, Gary Evans, Mike Woodrum, Adam Hines, and Billy Ray Duncan. Honorary pallbearer is Colton Hines.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Casey County Hospital in memory of Ora Gadberry.
