She was a member of Owensboro Church of Christ, she was a school teacher and taught Sunday school at Laurel Mission. She was also a merchant and retired Post Master in Big Laurel, KY. Nell enjoyed working in her garden, working puzzle books and watching Wheel of Fortune. She spent the last several years living with and enjoying her time with her son and daughter-in-law Dwight and Patty Baker, along with their yorkies that she loved also loved to spend time with.
Surviving Nell are sons Donald Baker (Holly) of West Palm Beach, FL, Dwight Baker (Patty) of Owensboro, KY and a daughter Jacqueline Kolbe (Jerry) of Hermann, MO; six grandchildren Stephen Baker (Jamie) of Boca Raton, FL, Debbie Rose (James) of West Palm Beach, FL, Ed Sawyers (Kathy) of Glendale, AZ, April Barr of Owensboro, KY, Joshua Gray of Owensboro, KY and Kim Tanner (Scott) of Livermore, KY and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Russell Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 10:00am-1:00pm at the funeral home.
