Melissa Ann Hunter Whittemore, age 42, of Magnolia, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016, at her residence.
She was the owner and operator of Decades Restaurant and the Magnolia Mission Store; a member of Mt. Zion Separate Baptist Church near Magnolia; member and secretary of the Magnolia Lions Club and was an avid supporter and volunteer for numerous local charities.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Marvin Leslie Davis and her paternal grandfather, J. S. Hunter.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Whittemore; a daughter, Beth Sanders and her fiance' Elijuh Davis of Magnolia; her parents, Allen D. and Donna F. Hunter of Magnolia; a sister, April (Tony) Wells of Magnolia; a brother, Dale (Alana) Hunter of Buffalo; her maternal grandmother, Rebecca Davis of Magnolia; her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Hunter of Bedford, VA; two nieces, Brooklyn Wells and Hailey Wells and a nephew, Jacob Hunter.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM (ET), Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Revs. Gerald Gardner and James Crim officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 PM (ET), Tuesday and after 10 AM (ET), Wednesday at the funeral home.
