She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Maple Hill United Methodist Church where she was very active and was a member of the church choir. She was a retired machine operator for Fruit of the Loom, Inc. She loved her cows and farming, enjoyed cooking, gardening, but her family was her pride and joy.
She united in marriage to Garlin Heston “Tood” Meadows on February 26, 1954 who preceded her in death on January 18, 1996.
Survivors include seven grandchildren: Daniel Matney, Joseph Matney, Lora and Brian Keltner all of Greensburg, Tracy and Donnie Price, Angela and Chris Lewis all of Campbellsville, Jonathan Meadows of Edmonton, and Jeremy and Rachel Meadows of Lebanon; 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Connie Patterson of Taylor County, Peggy and Ken Curry of Green County, and Linda and Tommy Hall of Summersville; a brother: Loren Posey of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Meadows was also preceded in death by a a daughter: Patsy Matney; three sons: Gary Meadows, Jerry Meadows, and Bruce Meadows; a great-grandson: Daniel Cody Matney; and nine siblings: Brenda Fay Matney, Mary Lou Edwards, L.P. Posey, Sam Posey, Billy Gene Posey, James Ray Posey, Everett Posey, and two still born.
The funeral services for Mary Alice Meadows will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Central Time, Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is requested from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Wednesday until time of the funeral service.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Maple Hill Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
