Mrs. Mattingly was employed by Jane and Linda Sportswear for many years and later served as an aide at Lebanon Elementary School. Over her life, she worked at home or church as a fine seamstress, an excellent baker of jam cakes and yeast rolls, and a quilter extraordinaire. She was a very involved member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Lebanon.
Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Mattingly was preceded in death by; sons, Alan K. and Joseph Barry Mattingly; an infant daughter, Gay Elizabeth Mattingly; a brother, Isaac Norman McGohon; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Jarboe; and a great-grandson, Garrett Alan Hodapp.
Survivors include: a son, Pat (Mahala) Mattingly, of Lebanon; two daughters, Pamela (James) Hopkins, of Lexington, KY and Sue Ann (Ray) Daughtrey, of Hixson, TN; two brothers, Bill McGohon (Mildred) of Louisville, KY and Jack McGohon (Linda) LaGrange, KY; and a sister, Wanda Gabbart (Glen) of Osawatomie, Kansas; sister-in-law, Kelsie McGohon, of Elizabethtown KY. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2015 at the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, officiated by Rev. Anthony Gilbert. Interment to follow in the St. Augustine Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Bosley Funeral Home.
