Mark Steven Ponder, age 65 of Yosemite, KY passed away on Sunday July 3rd, 2016 at the U.K. Medical Center. Born March 9th, 1951 in Danville, KY he was the son of the late Marcus Taylor and Aline Coleman Ponder.
He was preceded in death by a Grandson: Dustin Joe Morgan, a Sister: Dale Ponder Helton who passed away on July 3rd, 2009 and a Niece Cynthia Ann Phillips.
Mark was a owner/operator with mercer Transportation and Owner of Ponder Construction. He was a longtime employee of Ponder Pallet in Kings Mountain, KY, former manager at South Indiana Lumber Co. in Henryville, IN. He was an enthusiast of motorcycles, cars and antiques. He was a former partner with David T. Ponder in Ponder Logging. Mark loved cats, but most important was his passion for his family, especially being able to fix the family a huge breakfast. Mark was a person that enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a member of Middleburg Baptist Church.
He is survived by his Daughter: Rhonda Elizabeth Taylor of Munfordville, his Significant other: Beverly Goff Drummond of Yosemite, Two Step-Sons: Carey Lewis Mitchell of Yosemite and Michael Neal Mitchell of Wynne, AR, Three Step-Grandchildren: Ashtan Ryan, Danielle and Gracie Mitchell, One Step Great Grandchild: Lincoln Franks, Two Nephews: Glen E. Phillips Jr. of Liberty, KY and Richard L. Helton of Warner Robins, GA, whom felt that Mark was a father figure.
Visitation will be held 6:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. Thursday July 7th, 2016 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel and after 8:00 A.M. on Friday July 8th, 2016 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday July 8th, 2016 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chris Dalton and Richard Helton officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Glen Phillips Jr., David T. Ponder, Richard Helton, Carey Mitchell, Larry Burton and Phillip Randolph. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eli and Patrick Wesley and Steven Garrett.
