Mae Raney of Yosemite, KY passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, KY. She was 86.
Born October 23, 1929 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Ransom and Myrtle Spears Coleman. Mae was a caregiver and sat with the elderly. She was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She was always eager to help, she was able to find the positive in whomever she met, she had a generous spirit as evidenced by her willingness to do whatever she could do for whoever might ask or whomever might not ask.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Raney of Yosemite and Brent (and Melody) Raney of Nancy; three daughters, Beverly (and Winford) Blair of Columbia, Tammy (and Steve) Dunn of Lexington, and Lisa Raney (and T.Y. Fisher) of Danville; nine grandchildren, Chris, Eric, Shanda, MaKensi , Brandon, Brittany, Claymon, Cali, and Colby; eleven great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Brianna, Shailyn, Cooper, Stevie, Bryson, Paisley, Jenna Beth, Payton, Ashton, and Leighton; two brothers, Paul (and Jan) Coleman of Liberty and George (and Betty) Coleman of Yosemite; and five sisters, Jewell Dean Woods of Lancaster, Sylvia (and Bruce) Yates of Liberty, Viola Sallee of Middleburg, Nancy Coleman of Yosemite and Pauline (and Ronald) Wright of Liberty.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Raney, who passed away January 10, 1989; two brothers, James “Jim” Coleman and Cole Coleman; and one sister, Shirley Rayborn.
Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Haste officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home from 5:00-9:00 P.M. and will continue Saturday from 8:00 A.M. until funeral service.
Pallbearers are Chris Blair, Eric Raney, Brandon Raney, Steve Dunn, T.Y. Fisher, Winford Blair, Adam Fridell, and Dustin Gage.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Mt. Calvary Church Cemetery.
