Louise Brock, 96, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 6:25 A.M. at Signature Health at Summit Manor in Columbia.
She was born June 2, 1919, in Russellville, Kentucky, to the late John Green and Laura Lee Duncan Cates. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Brock and her son, Dr. Larry Brock.
She was a member of Columbia United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Columbia Woman’s Club, the Hospital Auxiliary, the Chamber of Commerce, the Adair County Women’s Democrat Club and was very community minded. She owned and operated Vaughn’s Smart Apparel for many years.
Survivors include:
Two daughters – Marsha (Richard L.) Walker and Vicki Miller all of Columbia
One brother – J.G. Cates, Jr., of Russellville
One sister – Laura Lee Stuart of Russellville
Eight grandchildren – Liegh Ann (Mike) Parkinson of Bowling Green, Dicky (Amy) Walker of Columbia, Lisa(Bernie) Brock Felio of Florida, Laura Brock of Elkton, Brad (Lachana) Scholl of Columbia, Brock Scholl of Lebanon, Lyle Miller of Lebanon, Lindsay (Brandon) Miller Lee of Columbia
10 Great-Grandchildren – Katy (Seth) Coomer, Abby Walker, Drake Duncan, Derek Suiter, Chance, Chad, Brett, Jodessi and Daezon Scholl, Grayson Lee
Funeral service – Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Columbia United Methodist Church with Rev. Neil Janes officiating
Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery
Visitation on Monday from 4-8pm and Tuesday from 6-9:30am at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home and after 10am Tuesday at the church
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to Columbia United Methodist Church in her memory. These may be made at the funeral home or church
