Born on August 21, 1945, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Ozie and Opal Walden Mondie. Jack was a retired United States Navy Force Master Chief of the Military Sealift Command. He proudly served his country for thirty years and traveled the world throughout his service, including serving in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing, and spending time with his loved ones.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Maria Patriarca Mondie of Liberty; two daughters, Cynthia Ann (Thomas) Starnes of Virginia Beach, VA and April (Kristen) Patriarca of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren, Andrew (Amber) Mondie, Ashlee Seim, and Chris (Milla) Starnes; two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Emma June; and a brother, Darrell (Brenda) Mondie.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Michael Mondie; brothers, Arville Mondie, Gilbert Mondie, Newell Mondie, and Steve Mondie; and sisters, Bernetta Luttrell, Deweese Miles, Rosetta Mondie, and Blondale Mondie.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, January 2, 2023, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Morris Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery with military honors provided by the Casey County Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
