Born January 6, 1928 in Versailles, KY, she was the daughter of the late George and Janie Brown Edwards. Edith was a homemaker and member of the Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church. She was an excellent cook and she enjoyed spending time with her family and working outside in her yard.
Survivors include her son, Roger (and Linda) Murphy of London; a daughter, Kay Means of Louisville; two sisters, Christeen Cochran of Cincinnati, Ohio and Velma Reed of Indianapolis, Indiana; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild on the way.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by Sherman Murphy, husband and the father of her children; an infant brother, Junior Edwards; and sister, Sadie Wheeler.
Funeral services are 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Joey Murphy and Stephen DiPaola officiating. Burial will follow in Murphy Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until funeral service.
