After graduation from the University of Louisville Dental School, under a US Air Force contract, Dr. Back served in Germany for three years as an Air Force Dentist. He returned to Hodgenville in 1959, to take over his father's dental practice. After selling the practice he retired in 1989. A philanthropist supporting numerous charities, he was a member of numerous singing groups including the National Championship winning Louisville Thoroughbred Chorus and an avid bridge player, achieving the honor of becoming 1 of only 2 Life Master Duplicate Bridge Players from LaRue County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. A. G. and Ida Ursa Funk Back, Sr.
He is survived by a brother, A. G. (Linda) Back. Jr. of Hodgenville; a sister, Ursa Linn Coleman of Stanford, CT and numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Dr. Back's request, he was cremated and a private graveside service was held at the Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.
The family requests no flowers and that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the charity of your choice.
