Born October 13, 1940 in Casey County, KY, he is the son of the late Freeman and Ora Scott Monday. He was a farmer and truck driver. Carl was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He attended the Shady Grove Separate Baptist Church. Carl was a hard worker and a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include his wife, Polly Scherrer Monday of Liberty, whom he married June 25, 1960; a son, Lee (and Kim) Monday of Columbia; two daughters, Carla Monday of Lebanon and Jenny (and Kevin) Wallace of Jamestown; nine grandchildren, Jordon, Ellie, Katie, Kendell, Kerry, Samantha, Sarah, Shelby, and Scherriden; five great-grandchildren, Gracie , M.J., Raegyn, Aubrey, and Archer; a brother, Randall (and Cindy) Monday of Liberty; and a sister, Boots Foley of Liberty.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a great-grandson, Rylan Lynn and two sisters, Elvena Shepherd and Elva Allen.
Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 18, 2016 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Bailey officiating. Carl will be laid to rest in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday from 6:00-9:00 at the funeral home and will continue Monday from 8:00 A.M until funeral service.
Pallbearers are Lane Barnett, Joe Wethington, Kevin Foley, Barry Bell, Kerry Monday, Kevin Wallace, Leonard Winans,and Matt Lynn. Honorary pallbearers are Jordon Monday, Ethan Pierce, and Corey Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Gideons Bibles in memory of Mr. Carl Monday.
