
She was born February 16, 1928 in Washington County to the late Richard Leo and Mary Beulah Keene Parrott. She was devoted to her family and faith and was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She possessed a green thumb and loved making her yard beautiful with flowers and plants. She loved the beauty of Kentucky. She will be remembered for the grace and dignity with which she lived her life and the example she set for her children and all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to express our deepest thanks to all of those at the Loretto Motherhouse who cared for her during her final years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert Willard “Bill” Thompson (2004); one sister, Julia Wimsatt.
Survivors include four daughters, Jeanette Aragon (Lorenso) of Brighton, Colorado, Julia Jones (Jesse) of Crestview, Florida, Rose Mary Espinoza (Cesar) of Fort Lupton, Colorado and Alice O’Daniel (Sean) of Lebanon; four sons, Bob Thompson (Nadine) of Louisville, Leo Thompson (Gussie) of Lebanon, Joe and Harold (Cathy) Thompson all of Raywick; one sister, Mary Leo Mudd of Lebanon; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 108 Main Street, Raywick. The Rev. James W. Graf will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 PM Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 6 PM by The Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
Pallbearers are Shane Corrigan, Denny Thompson, Ryan Thompson, Nicholas O’Daniel, Cesar Espinoza, Reuben Chavez and Ben Thompson.
