Ann was born on January 19, 1933 in West Point, MS to the late Frank Stewart and Mildred Lorraine (Pierce) Compton. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Somerset.
She is survived by four daughters, Ann (and Jim) Bray of Bowling Green, Kathy (and John) Banks, Jr. of Somerset, Julia (and Rocky) Childers of Somerset and Ronna (and Troy) Meece of Somerset; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Mincey of Russell Springs; a sister, Barbara Alene Roy of Mayfield; a step-brother, Elmus Scott of Gaston, AL; fourteen grandchildren, Dr. Camille Steele of Farmington, NY, Jeremy (and Megan) Bray of Norman, OK; Dawna Sue (and James West) Keeney of Somerset, Phillip (and Andrea) Keeney of Somerset, Makayela John Banks of Somerset, Heather Weihrauch of Faubush, Seth Weihrauch of Somerset, Amoreena Childers of Eubank, Shane Childers of Nancy, Brandy Childers of Austin, TX, Amanda (and Benny) Wagoner of Rocky Mount, VA, Dakota (and Ashley) Meece of Elizabethton, TN, and Jessa Meece of Somerset; and seventeen great grandchild, Kyle, Ivy, Ethan, Maggie, Harmony, Melody, Kaylee, Chase, Camilla, Haylee, Brianne, Kaylyn, Christian, Layla, Asher Kane, Riley and Chloe.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Lee Mincey, Sr. whom she married on June 15, 1946 in Somerset and he preceded her on May 20, 2003; step-father, Clarence Scott; a son, Claude Mincey, Jr.; a brother, Frank Compton; two sisters, Doris Jean Compton Buchannan and Nancy Diane Yeagle; grandson, Christopher Lee Mincey, and a special uncle and aunt, Ray and Beatrice Turpin who raised her.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 24, 2016 after 6:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. A visitation will also be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 9:00am until 10:00am at the Historic sanctuary at First Baptist Church.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 10:00am at the Historic sanctuary at First Baptist Church with Dr. French Harmon and Bro. Harold Harris officiating. Burial will be at Mincey Cemetery in Somerset. Pallbearers will be Ann’s grandsons.
