He was born on July 24, 1945, in Anneta, KY, the son of the late Elmer and May Higdon Ferguson.
He retired as a meat cutter from Houchens Industries and enjoyed singing and spending time with his grandson, Brady. After being saved at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in December of 1978, he joined Anneta United Baptist Church, later becoming a deacon.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Lee Ferguson of Leitchfield; a son, Chris Ferguson of Leitchfield; one grandson, Brady Christopher Chase Ferguson of Leitchfield; a sister, Linda Louise Parks (Larry) of Elizabethtown, KY. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth Ford, Laverne Grant, Agneta Meredith, Luvena Duvall; and three brothers, Harry C., Vernon and William Ferguson.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, (March 29, 2016) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bros. Bobby Joe Meredith and Thomas Meredith will be officiating.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
