He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He was a retired carpenter and lifelong farmer. Mr. Judd was a veteran of WWII having served in the United States Army. He was Ranked Sergeant and recipient of the American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Ribbon, Victory Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Carbine Marksman Rifle Sharpshooter, and the United States Armed Services Bronze Star which was the third highest award the Military Presented. He was also a member of the American Legion Rod Lowe Post #124.
Mr. Judd was preceded in death by his wife, Ila J. Lobb Judd on August 7, 2014 having united in marriage on October 4, 1947.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Louis and Ruthie Judd, and Dannie Judd all of Greensburg; two grandchildren: Blake Judd and his fiancé, Stephanie Cloyd, and Shawna Shuffett and her husband, John all of Greensburg; three great-grandchildren: Kaylee Judd, Braxton Judd, and Colin Judd all of Greensburg; a brother and sister-in-law: Curtis and Dorothy Judd of Campbellsville; two sisters: Maurine Whitlow and Ella Mae Lobb both of Greensburg; sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law: Betty Lou Judd, Cleo Judd, Maxine Judd all of Greensburg, Adalene Judd of Glasgow, and Anna Lou and Vernal Addington of California; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Judd was also preceded in death by a grandson: Benjamin L. "Ben" Judd on June 24, 2015; brothers and sisters: Pete Judd, Earl Judd, H.L. Judd, Raymond Judd, Veachel Judd, Opal Coffey, Vera Arnett, and Lola Wright.
The funeral services for Mr. Ivin Judd will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Greensburg Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veteran's Honor Guard. Bro. Scott Coates will be officiating.
Visitation is requested from 3 P.M. until 8 P.M., Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Friday until time of the funeral service.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church or the Marion County Veteran's Honor Guard, which can be made at the funeral home.
