The Blue Raiders (6-0, 6-0 MSC) finished with 493 yards of total offense -- 340 through the air and 153 on the ground. It marks the fifth straight season Lindsey Wilson has won the Battle of Highway 55 and the sixth time in the last eight against their Mid-South Conference foe.
Campbellsville (1-5, 1-5 MSC) finished the night with 277 yards of total offense -- 226 through the air and just 51 on the ground – as they failed to capitalize on a sluggish start from the Blue Raiders that saw just 77-yards of total offense in the first quarter.
Cameron Dukes finished the game with 365 yards of offense. He managed 311 through the air while adding 54 with his legs. It marks the fifth time in his career he has thrown for over 300 yards in a game as he threw for five scores while adding another on the ground. Terrill Cole finished his night with six receptions for 135-yards and three touchdowns.
Joshua Lewis added three catches for 97-yards as he eclipses the 1,000-yard receiving mark with 1,074 for his career. Jaylen Boyd rushed for 65-yards to push his career total to 2,064-yards in his three seasons.
Dukes opened the scoring on LWC’s first drive of the game, scrambling from 13-yards out to cap off a four-play, 47-yard drive.
Three offensive possessions later and to open the second quarter, Dukes struck again, this time through the air. Dukes found an open Cole over the top for 51 yards. The score increased the Lindsey Wilson lead to 14-0.
Campbellsville took advantage of an LWC miscue later in the quarter as Dukes was strip-sacked and Andrew Bennett recovered the ball and scampered inside the LWC red zone. Three plays later Josh Meglis found Tate Pringle for 16-yards and the score.
Lindsey Wilson tacked on two more scores before the half came to a close but the Tigers added one of their own.
Dukes found Jaleel Warren for 14-yards with 6:16 to play. The score came on a fourth-down attempt. Campbellsville responded with a score of their own at the 1:46 mark of the quarter. Josh Hinton capped off the Tigers 12 play 75-yard drive. Just 32 seconds later Lindsey Wilson increased their advantage to 28-14 when Dukes found Jaylen Boyd from 15-yard out.
Dukes added two more scores through the air in the third quarter as he found Cole twice. The first went for 28-yards with 10:43 on the clock as the second came with 3:23 to play on a five-yard score. The two touchdowns put the Blue Raiders well in control as they led 42-14 entering the final stanza.
The Tigers added one more score, doing so with 8:26 to play as Meglis found Tate Pringle for a three-yard touchdown toss. Joshua Lewis capped off the night with a 52-yard punt return late in the fourth quarter to increase the LWC lead to 49-21.
Payton Doles led the Lindsey Wilson defensive effort with a game-high eight tackles and one interception. Ty Tevis and Darius Hylick each finished the game with seven tackles as Hylick managed a game-high five solo efforts.
Lindsey Wilson turns their attention to Bethel (Tenn.) as they close out their regular season with senior day on Friday, April 9th. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.
