Absentee ballots may be requested at any time. The application has to be in house by the close of the business day, which is 4:00 p.m. on MAY 14, 2019 to receive your ballot. Therefore, please request your absentee in time to have the application returned before the deadline.
The following voters may apply to cast their votes by MAIL-IN absentee ballot if the application is received no later than the close of business hours seven (7) days before the elections of May 21, 2019
- Voters who due to age, disability, or illness, will be unable to go to the polls on Election Day
- Voter who is a resident of Kentucky who is a covered voter as defined in KRS 117A.101—military personnel
- Military personnel confined to a military base on Election Day
- Students who temporarily reside outside the county
- Voters who temporarily reside outside the state but remain eligible to vote in this state (including vacationers)
- Voters who are in jail and have been charged with a crime, but not yet convicted of a crime
- Voters whose employment location requires them to be present from the county all hours and days absentee voting is conducted in the clerk’s office...
- Voters who are participants in the Office of the Secretary of State’s Address Confidentiality Program
- Mail in a written request with name, address, phone number, reason requesting and signature

Once an absentee ballot is requested, you will then be mailed an Application that has to be filled out and mailed to the Clerk’s Office as soon as possible to meet the deadline for the ballot. Once the application is returned, you will receive the ballot by mail. Please follow instructions completely when filling out your ballot
