The National Weather Services was in the area earlier this week assessing damage after storms swept across the area Monday evening.
According to officials, Metcalfe County was one of the hardest hit. With strong winds, rain, and an EF-1 Tornado.
A couple of farms received damage in that area due to the storm, but no major damage was reported.
That storm had later tracked through Northern Russell County but had died down in intensity before reaching the area.
Strong to severe storms are back in the forecast for Thursday here in the Lake Cumberland Area.
We are currently listed in the slight risk category, with the Western part of the state listed as an enhanced risk.
Stay tuned to WJRS and we’ll continue to keep you up to date on the latest on the possibility of severe weather effecting Russell and surrounding counties.
